Today in Speech and Debate, our class spent the third day in the computer lab researching their debate topics. Their task is to work in partners and perform a full length debate (8 minute constructions, 5 minute rebuttals). Of the 17 students in class, two have their head down, four are playing games, and only a few are actually working. I am so disappointed in the effort of certain students. Maybe my expectations are not clear? Maybe I need to give them more structured lessons? Maybe technology alone is not motivating enough?
